The flame-retardant resin allows you to insulate cable splices operating up to 1 kV and to seal the crotch or sheath when terminating multi-core cables. 3M Scotchcast electrical resin 2131 is a 2-part, flame-retardant compound, useful for coating cable jackets when splicing or repairing mine and portable cables. This permanent, polyurethane, liquid-type resin has a unique formulation used in rugged conditions. The high dielectric strength offers a very good electrical insulating property to the resin.
