The Scotch-Brite super polish sheet is a soft, springy, non-woven sheet that offers a high degree of conformability for final-step, satin finishing. The pliable, open web is an ideal medium for use with compounds to help generate a uniform finish. The thick, open web fibers of the Scotch-Brite super polish sheet are buoyant, flexible and responsive. This means the Scotch-Brite super polish sheet will finish consistently without gouging, marring or damaging the surface. It delivers a nice scratch pattern when used appropriately with a compound. Customarily, when removing surface imperfections and dash like bubbles or contaminants and dash from substrates like wood, a multi-step process occurs. First, a tough abrasive aggressively sands and abrades the surface, so the porosity of the surface is reduced. This helps with even application of a lacquer later on. Then, after achieving the desired finish and removing imperfections, a polishing abrasive helps to infuse the substrate with a lasting glow.
