Hookit, 7010308147, Paper Disc, Series: 966UZ, 8 in Diameter Disc, 80 Grit, Ceramic Abrasive, Paper Backing, F-Weight Backing Weight

3M Hookit paper disc 966UZ uses a proprietary 3M ceramic abrasive grain to give you more sanding power than conventional abrasives. This superb abrasive product features an F-weight paper backing for effective sanding and finishing of flat surfaces in woodworking and metalworking applications. 3M Hookit paper disc 966UZ features 3M ceramic abrasive grain which exceeds many conventional abrasives in durability, life and cut rate, this allows for greater throughput in less time and the potential for significant gains in productivity. 3M ceramic abrasive grain is a ceramic mineral formed using a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness of the grain. It is chemically engineered with a unique "stay sharp" crystalline structure, which continually self-sharpens cutting edges on the surface of the disc, ensuring extended high performance in heavy duty production applications. The ceramic abrasive surpasses conventional abrasives in high production environments for its aggressive cut, greater heat-resistance and extremely long life. This is coupled with an F-weight backing, which is one of the heaviest, most rigid paper backings available. This backing will achieve finer finishes than cloth backed discs in the same grade. The paper backing provides smooth operation and durability. Notably, 3M Hookit paper disc 966UZ also has an anti-static treatment that can help manage dust and loading. This helps 996UZ run smoother and prevents buildup of unwanted cutting debris for a cleaner, more efficient cut. Hookit for easy attachment the 3M Hookit hook and loop feature makes disc attachment, removal and re-attachment easy and facilitates use and reuse of the disc for the extent of the abrasive life. Hookit disc pads have hooks of the type most commonly used in everyday hook and loop applications. Hookit disc pads grip the loop backings of Hookit discs and typically provide a finer finish than do adhesive backed discs. The Hookit system is designed for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt or flying debris.
