Designed specifically for hand sanding, our 3M precision shaped grain sandpaper delivers a super sharp, exceptionally fast cut of our precision shaped grain (PSG) ceramic abrasive, blended with aluminum oxide for jobs requiring an aggressive cut and long sheet life. These super-sharp triangular ceramic grains are electrostatically oriented onto durable, flexible paper sheets for maximum consistency and efficiency without clogging or wearing down. Paper backing attaches quickly and easily to sanding blocks. 3M precision shaped grain sandpaper features our precision shaped grain (PSG) technology, which allows 3M engineers to control the geometry of the abrasive grain for a truly fast, efficient cut. Instead of simply crushing the abrasive into particles, 3M creates uniformly sized ceramic grains and precisely shapes them into triangular structures essentially, sharp peaks that slice, not plow, through paint and metal. These grains are electrostatically oriented on the abrasive surface and blended with an aluminum oxide mineral for the most efficient cut and even wear. PSG maintains sharp abrasive edges as it wears for longer abrasive life. 3M precision shaped grain sandpaper is available in coarse 80 grit and 180 grit sheets for shaping and sanding body filler, as well as refining scratches in the filler. It is also available in 320 grit, excellent for sanding glaze before applying primer. This sandpaper is ideal for use during the prepare and fill stages of the 3M body repair System.
